Château La Bertrande
The balance and harmony of the Great Bordeaux Wines
Nestled in the heart of the Cadillac-Côtes-de-Bordeaux hills, overlooking the Garonne valley, Château La Bertrande is a historic estate that blends tradition with contemporary sensibility.
Led by Anne-Marie Gillet, the estate cultivates the art of winemaking with a sustainable approach, fully respecting the terroir and time.
This is where great Bordeaux reds, elegant whites, and sweet dessert wines like Cadillac and Loupiac are born, expressing a rare savoir-faire capable of combining finesse and authenticity.
Terroir and grape varieties
The vineyards, south-facing and ventilated by Atlantic winds, lie on clay-limestone and siliceous soils that promote slow ripening and complex aromas.
The estate cultivates the classic Bordeaux varieties — Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc for reds, Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc for whites and sweet wines — managed according to environmentally friendly and biodiversity-preserving practices.
The grapes are hand-picked and vinified separately to best express the identity of each plot.
The red cuvées mature in oak barrels, acquiring structure and roundness, while the white and sweet wines are the result of successive selections and, for Cadillac and Loupiac, of a precious natural botrytization.
This dual soul — between strength and sweetness — is the signature of Château La Bertrande.
Amidst the Bordeaux hills, Château La Bertrande cultivates the art of anticipation: from sun to glass, each wine tells the story of Bordeaux's sweetness and strength.
