Maison Marc

The French Excellence of Artisanal Cornichons

A story of family and land.

For three generations, Maison Marc has been growing and processing its gherkins in Chemilly-sur-Yonne, Burgundy. Every jar is entirely produced in France, from field to factory, just a few kilometres away.

In the 2000s, French gherkin cultivation had almost disappeared: more than 90% of jars came from India or China. Maison Marc chose to resist. With passion and determination, it relaunched local production, becoming a symbol of the return to "made in France".

Today, it is recognised as one of the few houses that grows, harvests and processes everything in France, defending a national agricultural and gastronomic heritage.

Cultivated without pesticides

Production follows sustainable agriculture practices, without pesticides or insecticides, with full respect for the land and biodiversity. Each harvest is done manually, as in the past.

From field to jar

The cornichons are harvested at dawn, when they are still crisp and fragrant, then immediately processed on the same day in the company's laboratory. This guarantees freshness, crispness, and authentic flavor, without the addition of preservatives or colorants.

Whether it's the Cornichon Extra-Fin, the Cornichon à l’Ancienne, or the flavored versions such as the Cornichons Fins with Champagne vinegar, Maison Marc is synonymous with French craftsmanship and gastronomic identity: a perfect balance between acidity, crunchiness, and naturalness.
